Owing Reza

Jonny and Charlie Keen got themselves in financial trouble. Well, that was Jonny’s fault. But sweet Charlie has a way to keep them in the apartment they love. And despite how terrible it may seem, it’s still a better option than the two of them stumbling back to her parent’s Kansas farm and telling them what a failure Jonny is.

I really enjoyed this short story and was left wanting more. I think the only weakness to this was that it could have been longer and that it's uncertain a sequel will be coming or not. I've read plenty of stories in the past that have a sort of open ended type ending and a sequel simply never happens. Heres hoping that it happens because it was one of this authors hottest stories.

KT Morrison has produced a small gem here. The events described take place on a single day, the first of the month, when Reza, their landlord’s son, comes to collect the rent. Since the tenants have no money, the rent has to be paid in sexual services rendered by Charlie, the pretty young wife, while her husband watches. This happens the first day of every month, has been happening for a long time, and will necessarily continue in the future. Jonny the husband, cannot prevent it; he has huge debts he can’t pay, so he must watch his wife being used by a tough guy with a huge tool, who today has even brought a friend who wants a favor too. It ‘s a story perfectly told.

This is KT taking what she does and forcing herself to condense it into a mini story. I can just feel the frustration in her shutting down her willingness to expand on everything written. Make no mistake about this story, she's planting a seed for a possible follow up. Reza's come back seems to happen every month given Jonny boy's inability to get his career back off the ground, and there was too much in Charlie's reaction to Reza and his friend, not to wonder what is going on in her mind. She also doesn't give the female character a lot of voice in this story, there's no way she keeps it that way! I really hope she brings this back in the future, and I think she set her readers up to feel that way!

short and nasty, with the cuckold elements of her two “Losing His Wife” series but getting through it faster, boiled down to one short story. This is nastier, in some ways: cuckold Jonny is forced financially to yield his woman to a stronger man. Neither of the two from “Losing His Wife” were. There were more complicated marital dramas working themselves out over longer periods of time. It’s a lazy day around Charlie (that’s the girl) and Jonny’s little apartment, but there’s an ominous undertone. Their landlord Reza is coming around to collect the rent. Charlie pays it, on her back - because Jonny is unemployed and owes money, because they’d be out on the street otherwise, because they don’t want to go crawling back to family for help. And he watches, because he hasn't got anyplace, like a job, to go instead. Sad truth be told, Charlie likes it. Reza, who runs a mixed martial program, is big and strong and hung and nails her like the shy and virginal girl never got it before and certainly not from her undersized, video-game-designing husband. Jonny hates that Charlie comes hard with Reza on his monthly appearances. (His occupation reminds me of the children’s-book-writing cuckold in the second Losing His Wife. ) Jonny hates to admit it, but this all turns him on too. This month, Reza’s brought his friend, the black boxer Demetrius, whom he’s told all about Charlie. Would Demetrius like a piece of her? The brevity, showing it to us when the nasty sex is already in the pipeline, and various other small touches really make this story.
